My coach says that I have been over-rotating when I am coming out of the back of the ring into the middle, with my right foot landing at 1-12 o' clock rather than 3 o' clock. So far we haven't found a decent solution, any recommendations?

Without knowing your technical approach it is hard to say. I guess a few thoughts I would have would be: You will maintain angular momentum (rotation) while in the air. Two the things you can try, taking a more linear path across the circle. Try doing full turns down a line. Even though it is a rotational technique, your inertia should be moving in a linear movement towards the sector. Second, I say just take off sooner from the back. If you are waiting to see the sector before you leave your left foot, you maybe already over rotated. Lastly, many throwers tend to lead too much with there right side, and in turn, forget about the left. If there is too much of a lag time between your right foot touch and left foot touch in the front, you may want to get the left side moving quicker.
Just a few of my thoughts. Hope you can get it figured out. Throw Far!!!

make sure all of your weight is centered on your rotating leg. having any of your weight deviated out of the back can cause a series of issues, one including over-rotation. I do have another idea so if that is not the issue let us know and we can try another solution.

I would start by slowing down. All to often most over rotation is due to being out of control. Check your rythum, 1....2..3 it should be slow out the back and progressively faster towards the front. A good way to brake it down is to do each postion in the throw one piece at a time. Coming from the back Pivot to 90 degrees so that you are in a South African postion. Then jump to the middle of the circul with your body over your hip and stop. Then do a half turn to get to your power postion and stop. And finally throw from your power postion. gradually speed this drill up. Also give your self a target have a friend or coach stand out in the field (and while the are paying attenchen) throw towards them and use them as a focal point.
